BacTerminator® can be used in the production of egg whites. The egg whites are treated in ion-exchange resins (to remove the lysozyme enzyme), are fermented in a tank with yeast (to remove the sugar in the white) and then concentrated in an RO/UF plant before spray drying.
The RO/UF permeate is a by-product which is often discharged with an imposed tax of ~ €3.20/m³.
By letting BacTerminator® disinfect this RO/UF permeate, microorganisms are eliminated instantly - and the permeate can be used in several applications like cleaning processes etc., giving the production plant substantial savings.
